Analysis of teaching material The content of my lesson is Unit 4 Section A in Go for It. This unit is about things around the house. After learning this unit, students will be enabled to increase their vocabulary of things in the house and to talk about where things are by using the prepositions on, in,under.
Analysis of students The students are in Junior One. It’s very important to help them form a good habit of learning. They are interested in English learning and are willing to share their ideas in class. They sometimes can’t find their things in class, so it’s a good topic for them to learn.
Teaching aims Knowledge objects (1)The students can use the curriculum words and expressions correctly; (2)The students can read and understand the non-curriculum words (bookcase, yeah)
2.Ability objects (1)To develop the students’ ability of listening about where things are. (2)Enable students to talk about where things are by using the prepositions on, in, under. (3)Enable students to ask where things are by using the where questions.
3.Emotional objects By completing the task, the students can be aware of the importance of keeping tidy and develop a good living habit.

Teaching Procedures

Lead-in T:Today I will introduce a new friend to you. His name is Tom. He is a student in Junior one like you. Now, Let’s meet him. Listen and follow the teacher. Use Tom to lead in the topic. Tom will be the main character of this lesson.

Help the students to find out what they may hear. 2. Practice listening and consolidate the words
Task Two: Ask the students to listen again and fill in the blanks. Play the recording. Check the answers. Listening to the recording and finish the exercise. Check the answers. Practice listening and make the students pay attention to the key words and the use of prepositions.
Step Four Exercise Show the students some pictures to elicit the prepositions in, on and under, and make sure they know the meanings. Show some pictures and ask the student to describe where Garfield is. Finish the exercise. To check if the students master the usage of the prepositions.
Step Five Speaking Show the students a picture and ask them to work in pairs, ask and answer where the things are. Make up a dialogue about the position of the things To help students use the target language in a controlled manner.
Step Six Listening Task One: Ask Ss to look at the pictures in 2a, tell me what it is/ they are. Listen and number the pictures. Task Two: Listen and fill in the blanks. Task Three: Match the things with the places according to the dialogue they’ve heard. Finish the exercise. To give Ss practice in listening for specific items in conversation.
Step Seven Drill 1. T: Let’s play a game. Student A hides(藏) Student B’s things Student B asks A for his/her things. Student A answers. 2. Give the students some useful patterns. Play the game and make up the dialogue. To help students use the target language in a controlled manner.
