Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warm up

T: Yes, I feel hot too. And I feel energetic. Doing exercise is good for our health. But sometimes we still have some illnesses. So, what should we do
Ss: See the doctor.
T: Yes, we should go to the hospital and see the doctor. Today, let’s go on learning Unit 4.
Ss: Seeing the doctor(Giving advice)!
【设计意图】通过耳熟能详的英文版健康歌及简短的师生交流唤起学生对本课话题的新的关注。

【设计意图】以virus游走身体带来的相应病症复习已学Illness词汇,并及时拓展关于ache词汇,为后继开展交际奠定基础。通过串联本单元Story time, Cartoon time, Culture time中人物,温故看病话题,并及时拓展关于should, shouldn’t的建议。
Step 3 New teaching (Checkout time B)

【设计意图】以Checkout time B 部分听力内容为学习支架,从第一人称有效地转换为第三人称的关于病痛及建议的讨论,并及时拓展关于建议的相关语言。之后通过有效提问引发学生对于病痛原因的思考,为Checkout time A板块学习做好铺垫。

1. Health information brochure
T: In China, there are still many poor areas. The children are suffered poor health. They don’t have good habits. Maybe they will have some illnesses too. What should we do Shall we give them some advice
Ss: OK.
T: So, let’s design some brochures about health information for them.
2. 情感升华:Good habits make us healthy.
【设计意图】通过为我国贫困地区孩子做健康宣传手册的活动创设,赋予本单元所学语言一定的生活意义,为学生综合运用语言能力的提高创设有效的情境。
