精讲点拨 A few weeks ago, I found the marks of another man's feet on the sand. mark 作名词， 迹象；记号；作名词，还可意为“分数”；作动词，“做记号；打分”。 eg：His big feet left many marks in the snow. 他的大脚在雪地里留下很多印记。 What’s the pass mark 合格分数是多少？ He marked his name on his suitcase 他在手提箱上标上了自己的名字 Who else is on my island else此处作形容词，意为“别的；其他的”，放在who，what等疑问词之后。 eg：Who else was at the party 晚会上还有谁？ What else did he say 他还说了些什么？ 补充：else通常不放在疑问词which之后。 else还可用于以-one,-body,-thing,-place, -where等结尾的复合不定代词/副词之后。 eg：Ask somebody else to help you. 请别人帮帮你吧。 He has nothing else to do today. 他今天没有别的事要做。 【易混辨析】else 与 other else副词修饰疑问代词、疑问副词或不定代词、不定副词，置于这些词之后。other形容词修饰名词，置于名词之前
One of them died but the other ran towards my house. towards只表示“向着某个方向”，没有“到达”之意to常跟在动词go, come, return, move等之后，表示“向往”,有“到达”之意
eg：He walked towards the school. 他朝着学校走去。 He moved to Beijing last year. 去年他搬到了北京。 One of them died but the other ran towards my house. one……the other……为固定定搭配，用于两者之间，意为“一个……另一个……”。 eg：One of them died but the other ran towards my house. 其中一个人死了，但是另一个人朝我的房子跑过来 He has two daughters. One is a doctor,the other is a student. 他有两个女儿。一个是医生，另一个是学生。 补充：some……the others……用于三者或三者以上，意为“一些……其余的……” eg：Boys are on the playground. Some are playing football and the others are playing tennis. 男孩儿们都在操场上。一些正在踢足球，其余的正在打网球。 I have already cut down trees and built a house. cut down为固定短语，意为“把……砍倒；裁短；减少；缩减”。cut的过去式和过去分词是其本身。 eg：I have already cut down trees and built a house. 我已经砍倒了树木并建造了一间房子。 They cut down the big tree. 他们把这棵大树砍倒了。 You'd better cut the article down to about 2,000 words. 你最好把这篇文章缩短到2000字左右。 与cut相关的短语： cut upcut downcut offcut outcut in切碎砍到；砍伐切断；切除删除插嘴
