教材内容分析
七年级课本教学内容以学生的学校、家庭等日常生活为核心,谈论学生最熟悉的话题,兼顾知识学习和素质培养。本课是外研社版七年级下册第六模块的第三单元,主要话题是围绕着问路和指路。Unit 3作为复习和拓展单元,目的是进一步复习和巩固用地点和方位介词来进行地理位置对的描述,并且形成“能为自己和别人问路与指路”这一语言性输出。
二、教学对象分析
因为是借班上课所以事先对所教班级的学生进行了解,这个班级的学生性格活泼好动,有着极强的求知欲和表现欲,喜欢直观生动的形象,对视频、游戏、竞赛等特别感兴趣。七年级是中学生学习英语的基础阶段,这一阶段的重要任务在于激发并保持学生学习英语的兴趣。因此,本课的设计旨在应用形成性评价、通过灵活多样的教学方法来吸引学生的注意,引导学生积极主动的参与到课堂活动中来。本课的内容是学生熟悉的话题,通过学习和讨论,学生能够在日常生活中为自己和别人问路和指路,借此培养学生乐于助人的精神。通过思考、自由对话、等形式能够更好的掌握本课内容,提高学生的学习热情。
三、教学目标及教学重难点
教学目标 知识与技能 能够正确认读本模块bank, museum, bookshop, square等单词;正确拼写along, across, opposite, up, down等地点和方位介词能够听懂所描述的问路和指路的表达方式3、能够运用本单元的重点句型进行问路与指路4、能够与实际情况联系,并运用所学知识以对话形式进行展示
过程与方法 1、培养学生的自主学习能力及整合知识的能力2、通过解决问题的途径学习语言,以解决问题的愉悦促进学习热情
情感态度价值观 1、进一步提高学生对英语的学习热情,培养学生学习英语的兴趣2、培养学生乐于助人的精神
教学重难点 教学重点 指导学生掌握并熟练运用模块重点词、词组:Excuse me , turn right/left , up, down, bank, museum,post office 2、方位介词进行问路和指路
教学难点 运用方位介词进行问路和指路
四、教学方法、过程
Step 1:Greetings and Warming up
1、A guessing game :Ask students to listen and guess the names of some places
2、Present the words on the board and let students read the words aloud
(bank, restaurant, museum, bookshop, bus stop, hospital, park, post office, square, supermarket…)
(This activity aims to review the words they have learnt in Unit 1 and Unit 2 . Meanwhile, since it is a guessing game, it can arouse students’ learning interests and attract their attention.)
Step 2 :
1、Ask and answer : describe the positions by using target language (prepositions of place)in order to go over the prepositions of place.
(next to , in front of , opposite, on the right /left of , between… and …)
E.g. —Where is the …
—It’s next to/ in front of /opposite…
(This step aims to review the prepositions of place and key words.This step can stimulate the classroom study atmosphere)
Step 3:
1、Show the students a map of our town ,and ask students to how to ask for and give directions.
2、Then show the ways of asking for and giving directions on the board.
A: Excuse me Can you tell me how to get to the book shop
B: Go along Ying bin Street, and then turn right.
It’s on the left.
3、Pair work: ask and answer (how to ask for and give directions)
(This step aims to practice the sentence structure and improve
students’ oral skills.)
Step 4
1、Turn to Page 36 ,activity 2. Ask students to read a dialogue
between a man and a woman and then answer there questions
2、Group work: label the places and practise telling the ways to
some places.
(This activity let students find places according to descriptions of
direction and practise describing directions
Step 5 Role play
1. Students are asked to make a conversation about asking for and giving directions.
(According to the map of hometown , try to make a dialogue , it aims to let students use the target language in their real lives.)
Step 6 Writing
1. Ask students to help my friend Lydia to write a composition.
3. The teacher corrects the composition, and lets two or three
students correct the other compositions.
Step 7 Summary
1. Summarize how to ask for and give directions
2. Remind the students to be ready to help others.
(After the lesson, remind the students to be ready to help others
when someone needs help)
Step 8 Homework
1. For all the students
Make a summary of module 3. Draw a mind map about ask for
and give directions
2. Optional
Write down a composition about a one-day tour of your hometown.
