When do children start to talk If you ask a group of parents when this happened, most will say "around twelve months of age". They will probably even remember what the children said. Many parents keep a diary of their child's "first words".
We can never predict what a first word is going to be. Often it's the name for "mummy" or "daddy", but it could just as easily be the word for an animal or a favorite toy. Everything depends on what has most caught the child's attention. But one thing is certain: after the first word, others come quickly. By 18 months, most children have learned about 50 words. By two, the total has risen to around 200.
Early words are actually one-word sentences. One of the first features(特征)of language a child learns well is to control the rise and fall of the voice to make the difference between stating and questioning. In English, daddy with a high rising tone(声调)means "is that daddy " Daddy with a high falling tone means "There's daddy". Of course, only very basic meanings can be communicated using tones alone. So it soon becomes necessary to learn some grammar.
In English, grammar means learning to put words in different orders. Children have to see that mummy push is different from push mummy. They start practising such changes at around 18 months. By two, they have learned the basic patterns of word order, and we hear them saying such things as man kick ball and where daddy go.
What are the parents doing all his time They're acting as teachers and they always have an active role to play in their child's language learning.

Do you often do housework at home
Do you think it makes sense to have Labor classes in school
lead in
Students from Taizhou Middle School, Jiangsu Province, experience farming during their labor(劳动)course. As we all know, the life skills like cooking and painting are important and should be taught as part of labor education.
On June3, 2020, the Ministry of Education (MOE)(教育部) gave a document(文件) showing the revised curriculum(修改后的方案)for senior high schools across the country. Labor education includes housework, school labor and community voluntary(志愿的)services and so on.
“Labor education must be carried out(实施)with the purpose to make the right view(观点)of the world, life and values and develop an interest in doing chores,” said Vice-Minister of Education Zheng Fuzhi.
According to China Youth Daily, the labor course will take six credits(学分)— the same as foreign language and physics. Voluntary service, as part of labor education, would take two credits. The MOE also asks schools to make sure 40 hours of voluntary service during the full three school years.
According to Xinhua, adding labor education was out of care that the country’s young people do too little housework and that they think labor jobs aren’t important. Because of a lot of school pressure, schools pay more attention to the course of education, and parents may think that the chores waste their kids’ time.
According to a survey, middle school students in China only spend 12 minutes a day on chores, compared with 72 minutes in the US, 42 minutes in South Korea and 30 minutes in France.
However, doing housework does not distract(使分心)young people. Instead, they are necessary for developing a strong working spirit, according to Julie Lythcott-Haims, the writer of How to Raise an Adult. “The earlier you started, the better...”, he said.

Top tips for home-learning
●Plan your day
Think about how you're going to spend each day. Get up at the same time each day (not too late!) and get showered and dressed as if you were going to go to school. Make a timetable to plan activities for the day—put 20-30 minutes of English learning into your timetable.
●Balance online and offline activity
For many teenagers more time at home will mean spending even more time than usual online. Be aware of how long you spend online each day and take regular screen breaks to stretch and take your eyes off the screen.
●Exercise and healthy eating
Try to take some exercise each day. Try to eat meals at regular times and ensure you eat fresh fruit and vegetables and drink plenty of water.
●Think of others and help when you can
This is a difficult time for you, but it's also going to be difficult for the other people in your home. We all need to be more patient than ever at this time. If you can, think about others who are less fortunate than you are and if there are ways you can help to support friends and neighbours, then do so.
●Learn something new
Set yourself a challenge to learn something new. This is the perfect chance to learn skills that take time. There are many video tutorials to help you. So improve your typing skills, learn to juggle, learn how to cook—whatever you want, but try to make the most of this extra time.
We wish our learners on Learn English Teens all the very best.

With the development of modern technology, the way of learning is changing. I think I still prefer the traditional learning in a classroom.
First, there is a fixed timetable. A clear plan is often made by a school, so I don't need to think about how to arrange when to learn different subjects. Second, we can have the face-to-face communication with both teachers and classmates. Third, there are colorful activities in class. In this way, I can learn the new knowledge happily. What's more, learning in the classroom can help me develop a sense of team spirit, so I can learn how to get along with others.
However, when I study in the classroom, sometimes I can't follow my teacher. And learning in the classroom can't provide enough resources for me to choose from.
