Step1. Lead-in Talk with the students about their dream homes Where would you like to live What kind of homes would like to live in How many rooms would you like to have in your home Step2. Presentation Ask: Who lives next to you Mr Chen lives next to you. So Mr Chen is your neighbor. Write “neighbor” on the BB. Talk with the students: What do you think of your neighbor What does your neighbor do Where does he work Show the students some pictures and present some words: waiter, Step3. Practice Say: We have lots of neighbours. They have different jobs. Where do they work Look at the pictures and match them with the places. Check the answers together Get the students to make dialogues in pairs Who is your neighbor What does he do Where does he work Ask and answer Free talk Learn and read Free talk Learn and say Complete Part A Practise in pairs
Step4. Presentation Explain the context of Part B: Amy is asking Simon some questions. What are the questions about Play the tape for the students to listen and find out (They are about Simon’s home and different places around his flat.) Step5. Practice Play the tape again for the student to listen and answer the following questions Where’s Simon’s flat How many buildings are there in his neighborhood How many floors do the buildings have What does Simon have around his neighborhood Get the students to practice the dialogue in pairs Get some pairs to act the dialogue out. Step6. Presentation Say: Do you often talk with your neighbours Do your often play with your neighbors Do you like visiting them Do they often visit your home Do you think your neighbor a good visitor Ask : What is Hobo going to do Play the tape for the students to listen and answer. Step7. Practice Play the tape for the students to listen and repeat. Explain some language points. Get the students practice reading the conversation in pairs. Get some pairs to act it out. Step8.
