Study skills
You are standing at A.
Walk along the street, and take the first turning on the right. Then walk straight on and take the second turning on the right. Walk past the theatre and take the first turning on the right, where are you now
Find your way:
2.You are standing at B.
Go down the street,
walk past the restaurant
and take the third turning on the right. Then take the second turning on the left. Where are you now
3. You are outside the park. You want to go to the train station. How can you get there
4. I am standing in front of the train station. How can I get to the bus station
5. Sally is now behind the supermarket. How can she get to the school
When we speak, we drop our tone at the end of a statement.
1. There is a path between the hills.
2. Pandas are cute.
3. There’s an English Corner at Sunny Garden this Saturday afternoon.
(If possible, ask the students to give more sentences)
When we ask a yes/no question, our tone rises at the end of the question.
Are there any lions
Is the zoo far away from our school
Can volunteers help people with all kinds of problems
(If possible, ask the students to give more sentences)
We make our tone rise at the end of a sentence to show surprise.
A: The zoo is about three kilometres away from our school.
B: Three kilometres
A: I’m going to visit my new neighbours.
B: Visit your new neighbours
When we ask a wh- question, our tone usually falls at the end of the question.

(If possible, ask the students to give more sentences)
Listen and answer:
Which cinema does Millie want to go to
When will they meet
Practice reading the dialogue on P53 .
Homework:
Read and recite the conversation on Page 51 in the right tone.
