教学内容 The topic of this unit is “Finding your way”. Do you know how to ask for or give directions Can you read the map This lesson introduces us a trip to the zoo and helps us know the names of some animals and their features.
教学对象 The seventh grade student just contact with the reading of the lengthy discourse, also need the guidance of a teacher in reading ability, so at the beginning, I teach students to use the scanning or skimming method to read the text silently. And focus on training them how to seize the key words in the sentences and the topic sentence in paragraphs.
教学目标 To know how to read the map and master different directions. To know the names of animals in the zoo and their features. To learn to show directions for others and give the right response to others.
教学策略 1. Guess and understand the meanings of some new words according to the text; 2. Show pictures of signs and animals in the zoo. 3. Get information about the trip to the zoo by reading several times; 4. Use the text and the skills of reading to review and consolidate what they have learned.

Present the background of the text and say “ The students are seeing many different kinds animals in the zoo. Do you know what animals they are ” 2. Play the tape and ask students to skim the text. Then work in groups to complete B1. 3. Ask“ Which animal do you like best in the zoo Tell us where they are.” Encourage students to tell how to find their favorite animals on the map. 4. Do True or False in B2 and correct the mistakes. 1. Ask the students to read the text together with the tape. 2. Group them in groups of four, and ask them to act their dialogues. ( One is the guide and the other three are visitors) 3. Show a map and ask the students to make a dialogue about asking and giving directions. Let the students do some exercises on the worksheet. 2. Fill in the blanks to complete B3. 1. Listen and go through the text quickly. Try to find out what animals are in the zoo. 2. Work in groups and sign the locations of the six kinds of animals in B1. 3. Try to say something about how to get to the places of their favorite animals. 4.Do B2 and correct mistakes in the false sentences. 1. Read the text together. 2. Group work. 3. Some groups act their dialogues in class. Do the exercises. the animals and their features. Let the students know the main ideas of the text. And also train the student how to read different passages, e.g., they learn fast reading and detail reading. See if the students can use the new words and phrases. Get the students to use the new words and phrases to act their dialogues. To check out if they master the knowledge.
