Step 1 Revision Talking about your favourite pets with some adjectives in pairs: A: What is your favourite animal B: …. A: What is it like B: … What about you What is your favourite animal … Step 2 Presentation 1. Present some new words using pictures. 2. Read aloud these new words: weigh v. 重；有…重；称…重 gram n. 克 grow up 成长；长大成人 talk n. 讲座；演讲 noise n. 响声；噪音 brush vt. 刷；擦 fur n. (动物的）软毛，毛皮 Step 3 Listening 1. Listen to a talk and help Peter check if the notes are T (true) or F (false). 2. Listen to the talk again and complete A2 on Page 99. Notes: 1) pick them up with your hands 用手把他们捞起来 2) grow up be…centimetres long 长大成为……厘米长 3) weigh up to…grams 重达……克/有……克重 3 Complete A3 on Page 100 with the help of the information on Page 99. Step 4 Explanation 1. pick up 捡起，拿起 Will you please pick up the pen for me pick sth. up = pick up sth. 但当宾语是代词时只能说： Work in pairs. Ask and answer. Read the new words. Listen to the tape twice and check the answers in class. Learn some points.

Step 5 Exercises 1. ---你为什么养猫啊？ ---因为它很好照看。 2. ---一只金鱼有多重？ ---大概不超过半公斤吧。 3. 宝宝在睡觉, 不要发出任何声响。 4. 在阳光下看书对眼睛不好。 5. 这里的春天很好, 不太冷也不太热。 Remember them after class. At the same time, finish off some exercises to grasp them.
