在复合句中,用作状语的从句叫状语从句。它可以修饰谓语、非谓语动词、定语、状语或整个句子。根据其作用可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果、让步、方式和比较等从句。从句位于句首或句中时通常用逗号与主句隔开,位于句尾时可以不用逗号隔开。
(1)as soon as 作 “一……就……”讲时,引导时间状语从句,当表示将来的动作或状态时,从句要用一般现在时,而主句用一般将来时。
(2)unless=if…not意为 “除非;如果不” ,引导条件状语从句。
(3)so+ adj./adv.+ that意为 “如此……以至于……”,引导结果状语从句。

In November 1979,pupils in England were__able__to watch a new TV program called Monkey.Most of them were hearing this story for__the__first__time.However, this story is not new to Chinese children.The Monkey King or Sun Wukong is the main character in the traditional__Chinese__book Journey to the West.
The Monkey King is not just any normal__monkey.In fact, he sometimes does not even look like a monkey! This is because he can make 72__changes__ to his shape__and__size,__turning himself into different__animals__and__objects.But unless he can hide his tail, he cannot turn himself into a person.To fight bad people, the Monkey King uses a magic__stick.Sometimes he can make the stick so small that he can keep it in his ear.At other times, he is able to make it big and long.
The Monkey King has excited the children of China for many years.And as__soon__as the TV program came out more than 30 years ago, Western children became interested in reading this story because the clever Monkey King keeps__fighting to help the weak and never gives__up.
