If children come, they MUST stay close to their parents. Running up and down the strawberry rows will NOT be allowed. Our workers will tell them where to start picking and the children should listen. We hope children will follow our safety rules in our fields.
( )53. On the farm, children are asked to _____.
A. plant some strawberries B. run along the rows
C. stay close to their parents D. look after their pets
It is necessary for students to learn some team skills like developing relationships, communicating well with others and solving problems. Here are two fun team activities.
Activity 1: Water Relay (接力赛)
Tools
●Two large buckets (水桶) to hold water
●One small bucket for each team member (2020广东)
( )51. How many team skills does the writer mention (提及) in Paragraph 1
A. One. B. Two. C. Three. D. Four.
( )52. What tools are needed for each team in Water Relay
A. One large bucket for each member.
B. Two large buckets for each member.
C. One small bucket for each member and two large buckets.
D. Two small buckets for each member and one large bucket.
由“Two large buckets(水桶) to hold water” “One small bucket for each team member” 可知,在水接力赛中需要两个大桶盛水,每个队员需要一个小桶。
To pick the strawberries, you need to make a reservation (预约) on our website. Reservations are open from 13:00 to 20:00 the day before the picking day.
( )51. If you go to the farm on August 8th, you can make a reservation at _____.
A. 10:00 on August 6th B. 10:00 on August 7th
C. 14:00 on August 6th D. 14:00 on August 7th
Tickets are $8 for members of BIPC and $10 for non-members. Half price for a child. (2018广东)
( )59. Bill, a member of BIPC, and his 5-year-old son will pay ____ for tickets to the activities.
A. 10 dollars B. 12 dollars C. 16 dollars D. 18 dollars
To enter the competition, please visit the Centre Shop to pay £5 for each poem. Once the payment is made, please email the poem(s) to poetrycomp@center.uk. Remember to mark Open or ESL in the top right-hand corner of the document(文档) to show which group to enter before emailing your poem(s).
( )60. Which is the correct order for poets to enter the competition
① Pay£5 for each poem.
② Visit the Centre Shop.
③ Email their poem(s) to poetrycomp@center.uk.
④ Mark Open or ESL in the top right-hand corner of their document.
A. ①②③④ B. ②①③④ C. ②①④③ D. ③④②①
根据文段首句可知第一步是“visit the Centre Shop”,根据文段尾句“Remember to mark Open or ESL in the top right-hand corner of the document … before emailing your poem(s).”
There’s much to see under the sea,but you need to remember that light behaves differently in water than in air. The objects appear closer to you than they exactly are. You might find yourself reaching out to touch something and completely missing it.
Objects under water will appear larger than they would on the surface, too. Be careful not to tell any stories about the big fish that got away. That fish might not be so big after all! It’s just
because sometimes things can seem to be as much as about 33 percent bigger in water!
What’s more,in deeper water, colors just don’t seem as bright. In fact,it looks as if some colors are missing. Remember the color of an object results from the wavelengths (波长) of light that are reflected (反射)from its surface. And light is taken in as it moves down through the water.
Swimmers wear wet suits to keep warm underwater. Let’s take a bright red, yellow, and blue wet suit as an example. These colors are hard to miss on the surface of water. Watch carefully the changes in color as you descend in the water. The red part now looks almost black because the red light wavelengths, the longest among these three colors, are missing. As you go down deeper, the same thing will happen to the yellow part and in the end to the blue
part. Even at a place of about 6 to 9 meters underwater, you will look terrible, like a ghost(鬼怪)! And you have to wait for your return to the surface to enjoy the bright colors again!
( )64. Which of the following is true
A. A four-meter-long fish looks three meters long underwater.
B. The wavelengths of red light are longer than those of blue light.
C. Much water will be taken in by the swimmer deep in the water.
D. You will see a ghost if you go as deep as 6 to 9 meters into the sea.
【真题解析】此题要求找出表述正确的一项,从文中第四段“The red part now looks almost black because the red light wavelengths, the longest among these three colors, are missing.”
Some people, however, have concerns about the safety of the uneaten food. They think such food may not be clean enough. Still, this project is a clever way to help solve the problem of food waste and it helps those in need.
( )59. The underlined word “concerns” in this passage means _____.
A. ways B. secrets C. worries D. decisions
【真题解析】根据下文“They think such food may not be clean enough.”
However, from 2012 to 2016, poaching (偷猎) and illegal trade in the elephants increased rapidly. Eighty-three elephants were lost in 2015 alone, and another fifty-one elephants were killed in 2016. “If this situation goes on, all the Gourma elephants will be killed by 2020,” said a member of MEP.
( )57. What does the word “illegal” in Paragraph 4 mean in Chinese
【真题解析】根据下文“Eighty-three elephants were lost in 2015 alone, and another fifty-one elephants were killed in 2016.”
名词,或含有表示推测的情态动词 can, could, might, would 以及表示推断的副词 probably, most likely 等。
According to a research, more than 130 billion pounds of uneaten food go to waste in Laura’s country each year. That is about 30% of the yearly food supply (供应). It is a sad fact, especially when you consider how many families and homeless people are in hunger.

Luckily, the voice of MEP was heard. More organizations (组织) have joined together to educate the local people that trading elephants is against the law. Elephant poaching has dropped to a very low level. The local people have learned to live peacefully with the elephants, one of the wildlife treasures in the world.
( )59. We can learn from the last paragraph that ____.
A. the number of organizations has dropped
B. there is much less elephant poaching now
C. the local people keep the elephants at home
D. the whole world live peacefully with elephants
【真题解析】根据文段内容可知,A选项“has dropped”表述错误;B选项表述正确,大象偷猎减少了很多;C选项“keep the elephants at home”表述错误;D选项“the whole world”表述错误。
According to a research, more than 130 billion pounds of uneaten food go to waste in Laura’s country each year. That is about 30% of the yearly food supply (供应). It is a sad fact, especially when you consider how many families and homeless people are in hunger.
When Laura saw her school dining hall throw away food that was not eaten at all every day, she came up with an idea. She
started a project to help her school dining hall to give away uneaten food to homeless shelters (庇护所) in her community. In the past three years, the same project has spread to other schools and some fast food restaurants throughout the city. The project is called Feet & Find, and has already fed thousands of people in her city.
How does it work Through an app, Feed & Find matches local homeless shelters with school dining halls and restaurants
that have uneaten food to provide. When dining halls or restaurants have uneaten food left, they can use the app to share the information about the food. A truck driver working for the project is then sent to pick it up and take it to a shelter.
Pretty cool, right It’s not surprising that people in other cities have got in touch with Laura, hoping that she could help develop similar projects for their communities.
Some people, however, have concerns about the safety of the uneaten food. They think such food may not be clean enough. Still, this project is a clever way to help solve the problem of food waste and it helps those in need.
( )60. Which can be the best title for this passage
A. A Dining Guide App B. A Food Sharing Project
C. A Driving Service APP D. A Food Safety Project.
Once there were many thousands of Gourma Desert (沙漠) elephants in Mali, a country in West Africa. Now, there are fewer than four hundred.
Why did the number of the elephants drop so quickly On the one hand, the elephants’ main lake, their only water source (来源), dried up. On the other hand, the land which the elephants lived on was overused by humans.
To protect the elephants’ living environment, the Mali Elephant Project (MEP) was started in 2007. MEP met with local people and helped them make rules of using land and water. As a
result, the situation became better and there was more food, forest and grassland.
Luckily, the voice of MEP was heard. More organizations (组织) have joined together to educate the local people that trading elephants is against the law. Elephant poaching has dropped to a very low level. The local people have learned to live peacefully with the elephants, one of the wildlife treasures in the world.

A. the rules of using land and water
B. the education of the local people
C. the work of Mali Elephant Project
D. the situation of Gourma Desert elephants

What steps can you take to improve your memory Whether you need to remember the content of the textbook, or the names of the players in a football team, having a good memory is the key (关键). Follow these tips to increase your brain power, and you’ll experience something wonderful in your life.
Use your brain. That may sound simple, but you need to use it or lose it. Similar to the way your body get stronger with exercise, you can strengthen your brain through exercise. Crossword puzzles, Sudoku (数独), and other thinking games help to make the brain active.

Focus. If you can’t memorize where you put your math homework, maybe it’s because you were also doing something else, like listening to the radio or sending messages to a friend. In order to remember the thing, it has to get into your brain in the first place. Pay full attention what you’re doing could work things out.
