中考完形填空题选材广泛,涵盖生活轶事、人文地理、历史知识、科技发明、社会经济、人生哲理和幽默故事等,体裁主要是记叙文和说明文。篇章幅度为250词左右,共10个小题,每题1分,共10分。主要考查学生对英语基础知识的综合运用能力以及对段落、篇章的阅读和理解能力,考查的角度和侧重点可分为三类:
