Lesson 20:A Computer Helps!
一、Teaching goals:(教学目标)
1.掌握单词:enter, key, depend, hide, search;
短语:search for, ask sb. to do sth., decide to do sth., in this way, hunt for
2.掌握和运用介绍复活节的句型:
Easter is an important festival in Western culture.
Easter does not fall on the same day each year.
People celebrate Easter with their family and friends.

How do people celebrate Easter
4.通过小组合作的方式,运用实物或图片提供的场景练习语言,提高英语听说读写能力。
二、Teaching content:(教学内容)
1. New words and phrases:.掌握5个重点单词和3个重点短语的用法。
enter,key, search, depend, hide, depend on, search for, the key to…
2. 读懂描述复活节的句子并且能初步学会用英语来介绍复活节。
(1)Easter is an important festival in Western culture.
(2) Easter does not fall on the same day each year.
(3) People celebrate Easter with their family and friends.
3.学会使用电脑搜索信息和正确使用电脑。

1.Talk about Easter in English, Make the Students talk about how to use a computer to learn.
2.Master the following sentences:
(1) I decided to do all of my research on the Internet.

(3) The date depends on the moon, but it is always in March or April.
(4) In this way, it is like the Chinese Spring Festival.

七、Teaching procedure:(教学过程)
Step1: Lead-in and warm up
1. Listen to a song about Easter and fill in the blanks
The Ss listen to the song and try to fill in the blanks.
【设计思路】Motivate Ss and lead in the new concept.
2.Ask:What do you know about Easter
The Ss discuss the Culture Tip in every group. Let the Ss know about Easter.
Step 2. Showing teaching goals
Step3 :Teach the new words and phrases
Make sure the Ss can read it correctly.
Show some pictures about new words and teach new words and phrases in the lesson. Make a list about it on the blackboard.
【设计思路】:用图片教授单词,让学生可以对形象生动的画面产生深刻的印象,激发学习兴趣,调动多种感管参与学习活动,更好地理解单词意思以及在语境中的用法。
Step4:Text
1.Read the text
Divide the Ss into three or four groups. Then ask them to read the text in groups. After a while, ask them to read the passage one by one.
Please pay attention to the long sentences:
(1) When Ms.Liu asked us to write a report about Easter, I decided to do all of my research on the Internet.
(2) It’s one of the biggest holidays in many countries.
(3) In this way, it is like the Chinese Spring Festival.
(4) Children use baskets to collect coloured eggs when they go hunting for Easter eggs.
【设计思路】 分小组朗读课文,看一看哪一组读得好。在竞争中整体掌握本课内容。
2.Read the text again and answer the following questions.
What does Ms. Liu ask her students to do
What does the date of Easter depend on
How do people celebrate Easter
【设计思路】:培养学生的阅读能力,让学生深入了解课文内容,能够使用简略答语正确回答问题,并掌握生词和短语。
Step5: Listening
Listen to the lesson and finish “ Let’s Do It!” No.3.
Step6 :language points
1.When Ms.Liu asked us to write a report about Easter, I decided to do all of my research on the Internet.
◆ask 意思是“请求,要求”,构成短语ask sb to do sth,意思是“请求或者要求某人去做某事”,其中的动词不定式作宾语补足语,它的否定形式是 ask sb not to do sth,意思是“请求或者要求某人不去做某事”。
My teacher asked me to do the homework.我的老师要求我去做作业。
My teacher asked me not to do the homework.我的老师要求我不去做作业。
◆decide是动词,意思是“决定”,常常构成以下结构:
(1)decide to do sth意思是“决定去做某事”。
She decides to buy a new watch.她决定去买块新手表。
(2)“decide +that 从句”意思是“决定……”。
They decide that they will climb the mountains tomorrow.他们决定明天去爬山。
(3)“decide+ wh- 疑问词+其他”意思是“决定……”。
We can’t decide who will be the winner.我们不能决定谁是胜利者。
2. depend on 意为“依靠, 取决于”。
e.g. The plan depends on the weather. 这个计划取决于天气情
3.It’s one of the biggest holidays in many countries.
“one of + the+ 形容词的最高级+ 可数名词复数”意思是“最……之一”。
eg. Lucy is one of the tallest girls in the class.露西是班上最高的女生之一。
4.In this way, it is like the Chinese Spring Festival.
句中 way 意思是“方面”,而in this way则表示“从这个方面来说,在这一点上”,用来指出从某些方面看待什么事情或者什么观点。
In this way, he is a good student. 从这点上说,他是个好学生。
Step7:Tast
Ask students to come to the front of the classroom, and some start walking towards others as the teacher says “go”.They must stop as the teacher says “stop”.Then they can make a new group to finish No.4.
【设计思路】 No.4的重点是训练本课内容的拓展延伸,了解中国的传统节日春节,注意课文内容,考查学生的分析总结能力,尤其是口语表达,同时了解中西方文化的差异。
Step8:Exercise
Fill in the blanks:

Step 9. Summary
Sum up the text what we learned, the new words, phrases, and sentences.
Step 10.Homework
1.Finish the activity book and the practice.
2.Recite the new words and phrases twice.
【设计思路】口头练习和单词记忆相结合,复习、归纳,注重语言知识的操练与积累。
Step 11. Blackboard-writing
1.The new words: enter, key, depend, hide, search
2.The new phrases: depend on 依赖 search for ...,搜索
the key to… …的钥匙 one of+ the +形容词最高级+名词复数 最……之一
3.Imporant sentences:
(1)I decided to do all of my research on the Internet.

(3)The date depends on the moon, but it is always in March or April.
