Lesson 28 Ms Liu’s Great Idea
【教学目标】
1.Master the new words, phrases, and the meaning of text.
2.Be an honest man.
3.The grammar: Object Clause.
【教学重点】
The meaning of text and the phrases about honesty.
【教学难点】
The grammar: Object Clause.
【教学过程】
Step1.Class opening.
Greet the students in English and make sure they can response correctly.
Step2.Lead in
Tell the students:Today we are going to learn a story about honesty.
Then ask:Do you know any mottos about honesty
Show some mottos about honesty. Then lead the students to read them after teacher.
Step3 New words
Show the new words:husband,gate,appreciate,honest,honesty,trust,trusting,value
Ask the students to read one by one.then check.
Give the students 3 minutes to recite them in class.Then check.
Step4.Listening
Make the students listen to the tape and answer questions
Check the answers one by one.
Step5.Translate.
Make the students work in group of four,read the text and try to translate the phrases.
Then check.
Step6 Reading
Make the students read the text and underline the sentences.
1)Then I saw another sign:“Help Yourself!”
(2)We were surprised to find that the farmer was so trusting.
(3)On our way home,I wondered if everyone would be honest.
(4)George says that he has tried to be an honest man all his life.
Explain the sentences and keypoints
1.Then I saw another sign:“Help Yourself!”
help yourself意思是“请随意”,一般招待客人或者请他人自便去做某事的时候用的礼貌用语。help oneself to sth意思是“自己取用……”,其中反身代词oneself要随着所指的人而发生变化。
Help yourself to some fish.
请随便吃些鱼吧。
Help yourselves,children!
孩子们,请随意!
2.We were surprised to find that the farmer was so trusting.
be surprised to…意思是“惊讶于……,对……感到惊讶”。
She was surprised to hear that news.
听到那个消息,她很惊讶。
(2)surprising 也是形容词,意思是“令人吃惊的”,一般用来修饰物,表示某物令人吃惊。类似的词语还有:excited—exciting,amazed—amazing,bored—boring等。
They were surprised at the little girl’s show.他们对小姑娘的表演感到惊讶。
The little girl’s show was surprising.
小姑娘的表演令人惊讶。
3.On our way home,I wondered if everyone would be honest.
wonder 是及物动词,意思是“想知道”,后面常接if或者whether引导的宾语从句,表示请求或者提出疑问。
I wonder if she will come.
我想知道她是否会来。
【拓展】 (1)wonder 后面还可以接疑问词where,when,who,how,why,what等引导的宾语从句或者构成短语:疑问词+动词不定式。
I wonder when she will come.
我想知道她什么时候来。
I wonder where to buy clothes.
我想知道去哪儿买衣服。
4.George says that he has tried to be an honest man all his life.
all one’s life 意思是“某人一生”,一般和现在完成时态连用。
He has kept working all his life.
他一生都在工作。
Step 7 Exercises
1.The teacher has been teaching    (一生).
2.He was    (吃惊)to hear that news.
3.He     (想知道)if she will come.
4.    (随意),boys!
5.Everyone should be    (诚实).
Step8.The grammar: Object Clause.
宾语从句 :
宾语从句定义:在复合句中做宾语的从句,可以做动词、介词、形容词的宾语。
宾语从句的语序是陈述句语序。
I wondered if everyone would be honest。
主语 谓语
宾语从句的时态:
1.主句是现在时或将来时,从句根据实际情况可用任何时态(不受主句时态的限制)。
I can’t remember whose coat it was.
2.主句是过去时,从句多用相应的过去时态。
I didn’t know if they had been here.
3.若从句表示的是客观真理,自然状况通常用一般现在时。
The teacher told us that the earth goes around the sun.

Sum up the text what we learned, the new words, phrases, and sentences.
Sum up the grammar.
