二、宾语从句的时态
1. 当主句是现在时态时,从句可以根据实际情况选择不同时态。如:
He tells us that he will go shopping later. 他告诉我们他稍后会去买东西。
I don’t know why you were so surprised. 我不知道你为什么那么惊讶。
2. 当主句是过去时态时,从句一般使用相应的过去时态,即一般过去时、过去进行时、过去将来时或过去完成时中的某一种形式。如:
He asked if he could watch TV after finishing his homework. 他问完成作业之后他是否可以看电视。
The children didn’t know who he was. 孩子们不知道他是谁。
注意:“Could you tell me … ”表示委婉的请求,并不表示过去时,所以其后的宾语从句可根据情况用不同的时态。如:
Could you tell me what you will do next Sunday 你能告诉我下个星期日你将做什么吗?
3. 当宾语从句为客观事实、普遍真理、自然现象或习惯性动作等,不管主句时态是什么,宾语从句要用一般现在时。如:
