This lesson introduces us a trip to the zoo and helps us know the names of some animals and their features.

1. Show pictures to have a revision. Ask “Where’s the…? Do you know the way to the…?”
2. Show more pictures and organize the students to ask and answer in pairs.
Present pictures to tell students “ We’re going to visit Sunshine Zoo today.” Then ask them to answer “What can you see in the zoo?”
Show a picture of pandas and teach the new word: bamboo.
Show more pictures of other animals to teach more words and phrases. (Write on the blackboard)
Communicate with students and ask “ Which animal do you like? Why?”
Give students an example and ask them to practice in pairs:
S1: Which animal do you like?
S2: I like……
S1: Why?
S2: Because……
Ask students to complete B3.
1. Present the background of the text and say “ The students are seeing many different kinds animals in the zoo. Do you know what animals they are?”
2. Play the tape and ask students to skim the text. Then work in groups to complete B1.
3. Ask “ Which animal do you like best in the zoo? Tell us where they are.” Encourage students to tell how to find their favorite animals on the map.
4. Do True or False in B2 and correct the mistakes.
1. Ask the students to read the text together with the tape.
2. Group them in groups of four, and ask them to act their dialogues. ( One is the guide and the other three are visitors)
3. Show a map and ask the students to make a dialogue about asking and giving directions.
Let the students do some exercises on the worksheet.

Answer the questions to review the directions and discuss in pairs.

Reading 2 is on the base of Reading 1, it is intensive reading and is deepened, master the new words, phrases and key sentences. Students can probably use their own language to express the main idea of the text, try to retell the text.

1. Play a game with the students to let them guess the animals.
2. Ask students to say something about the animals they have learned.
3. Ask the students to read and recite the text by themselves and complete B4.
4. Invite some of the students to read the dialogue in roles.

information And they are not familiar with shorthand skills. So in this teaching period, I will teach students some skills about how to write down the information they need quickly and correctly. Especially focus on the Key words in the sentences.
