1.Different Manners 各种各样的礼仪。
manner的意思是“方式;态度;习惯”。
manners表示“礼貌,礼仪;风度;规矩;风俗;生活方式”
If you have no manners,you will not be respected by others. 如果没礼貌, 你就不会受到别人的尊重。

2. Joe is an English name that sounds like Zhou.“Joe”是一个听起来像“周”的英语名字。
sound like 的意思是“听起来像”。
eg:The man doesn't sound like an American. 那人讲话
的口音不像美国人。
sound 可用作感官系动词, 后跟形容词, 表示“听起来...... ”
eg:Your idea sounds very good. 你的主意听起来很好。
eg:She sounds as if she were a ten-year-old girl. 她说话的声音像个十岁女孩。

look, smell, taste, feel
eg: The silk feels very soft. 这丝绸摸起来很柔软。
The cake tastes delicious. 蛋糕尝起来很美味。
sound后还可跟as if从句。
sound还有名词的词性, 泛指自然界所有的“声音”
eg:Sound travels better in water than in air.声音在水中比在空气中传播得快。
sound 指自然界里的一切声音 Sound travels faster than light.
声音比光传播的快。
voice 人的嗓音,也指一些悦耳的、听起来让人感觉舒服的声音 Her voice is loud.
她的声音响亮。
noise 噪音, 也指听起来让人感觉不舒服的声音 The noise makes people bored.
噪音令人感到厌烦。

3. If someone praises you and says that your English is excellent, you should be modest and say, “No, no. My English is still poor.”如果有人称赞你的英语很优秀, 你应该谦虚并说: “不, 不。我的英语很差。”

5. When Chinese people eat out in restaurants, they may take turns paying for the meal. 中人到外面餐馆吃饭时,他们可能轮流付账。

6. I think understanding cultural differences really helps us to understand each other, live together and work together. 我认为了解文化差异确实有助于我们互相理解、共同生活、一起工作。
由and或or连接的并列动词不定式, 第二个及其后的动词不定式的to可以省略。
eg:I want to call on him and discuss the question again.
我想拜访他, 跟他再讨论一下这个问题。
[拓展] 如果两个动词不定式有对比的含义或者不用连
词, to不能省略.
eg:I haven't decided to go home or to stay at school this weekend. 我还没决定这个周末是回家还是住在学校。(对比)
He likes to stay with his parents, to work in the fields with them. 他喜欢跟父母一起, 跟他们一起在地里干活。(动词不定式间没用连词)
