[辨析] 不同的 “end”
at the end of “在……末端”, 既可加表示时间的词也可加表地点的词 I saw an old friend at the end of the room. 我看到在房间的尽头有位老朋友。
by the end of “到……为止”, 后加表示时间的词 By the end of last week, I had written two books.到上个周末, 我已经写了两本书了。
in the end “终于, 最后”, 等于“at last” In the end he passed the final exam.他最终通过了期末考试。
2. We each took a cookie and ate it.我们每人拿起一块饼干吃起来。
each在本句中作we的同位语, 此时谓语动词要根据we用复数形式。
eg:They each have received a letter from America. 他们每个人都收到了一封来自美国的信。
[注意] each 单独作主语, 谓语动词用单数形式。
eg:Each agrees with me. 每个人都赞成我的意见。
each of 短语作主语, 谓语动词用单数或复数形式都可以。
eg:Each of them is/are to pay his/their own fine. 他们得各人付自己的罚款。
[辨析] each 和 every
不同点 共同点
each each 所修饰词的数量大于或等于2, each 可单独使用。 each 和every 都可修饰可数名词的单数, 谓语用单数形式。
every every 所修饰词的数量大于或等于3, every 不可单独使用。

dream of “向往; 梦想,幻想”, 后接名词、代词或动名词作宾语。
