Her friend hasn't spoken to her since last Friday.
There is nothing we can do about it, but even if we
are not friends anymore, we should still be friendly.
1. We used to study and play together, but ever since last Friday, she hasn't spoken to me. 我们过去常常一起学习、玩耍, 但自从上周五以来, 她没跟我说过话。
used to do sth. “过去常常做某事”, 说明过去的习惯、经常性的动作或行为状态
eg：We used to work in the same workshop. 我们过去在同一个车间工作。(现在不了)

eg：Perhaps he is used to taking his time. 或许不慌不忙早已成了他的习惯。
He has got quite used to staying up late. 他已经习惯熬夜了。
[辨析] “used” 的不同短语
be/get/become used to doing sth. “习惯于做某事”
be used to do sth. “被用来做 . . . . . ”
eg：Wood can be used to make chairs and desks. 木头可以（被）用来做桌椅。
eg：Knives are used for cutting things.刀是用来切东西的。
be used for sth./doing sth. “被用来做某事”
ever since “从那时起直至今日, 此后一直”
eg：Ever since he left for Canada last year, I haven't seen him again. 自从他去年去了加拿大以来, 我没再见到过他。
2. I considered all the things that could be wrong, but I still can't figure out what the problem is. 我细想了可能做错的所有事情, 但还是弄不清楚问题是什么。
consider “考虑, 细想”, 后跟动词 “-ing” 形式
eg: The engineer is considering accepting the task. 那位工程师正在考虑接受那项任务。
Yi Han considers telling Ms. Liu about these problems, but she doesn't want to get Li Tian in trouble. 易涵考虑告诉刘老师这些问题, 但她不想给李田惹麻烦
consider “认为; 把·······看作”
eg：I considered the picture (to be) beautiful. 我认为那张图画很美。
Marry is considered as the best student in our class. 玛丽被看作我们班最好的学生。
I don't consider that he needs some time to cool down. 我认为他不需要时间冷静。
[辨析] 不同 的 “consider”
figure out “弄懂, 弄清楚, 弄明白”, 动副短语, 接名词, 可放两边; 接代词, 放中间; 也可以接从句
eg：You don't have to figure this out on your own. 你不必自己弄明白这些事情。
You must figure out some way of getting some bread.你必须想出某些赚钱的办法。
No one could figure out how he got to be so wealthy. 谁也不知道他怎么会变得如此富有。
3. Sometimes it's pretty hard to tell what's wrong in a friendship. 有时很难分辨友谊中哪儿出了问题。
pretty “很, 非常; 相当, 颇”
eg：I'm pretty sure that you will pass the exam. 你会通过考试, 对此我很有把握。
He is a pretty good driver. 他是个相当不错的司机。
4. If neither of these things works, just leave your friend alone. 如果这两种做法都不管用, 就别打扰你的朋友了。
leave......alone “让······单独待着; 不打扰, 不干预”
eg：Since he doesn't want to be together with us, leave him alone. 既然他不想跟我们在一起, 就让他单独待着吧。
You'd better leave me alone when I am busy with my study. 我忙着学习时, 你最好别打扰我。
leave sb. alone = leave sb. by oneself “把某人单独留下”
5. She may need some time to cool down and think about the situation herself. 她可能需要时间冷静,自己考虑一下情况。
cool down/off “（使）平静下来;（使）冷却”
eg：Her excitement has cooled down/off. 她激动的心情平静下来了。
A shower can cool us down/off. 洗个淋浴可以使我们感到凉爽。
6. If yes, go directly to her and say sorry. 如果是这样（伤害了你的朋友）, 就直接去向她道歉。
if yes “如果是（肯定前面的情况）”
eg：If yes, please fill in the form. 如果愿意, 请填表格。
if any 即便有 if not 要是不 if so 要是这样的话
if anything 要说有什么区别的话; 甚至正相反; 甚至还不如说

7. But even if you're not friends anymore,you should still be friendly. 但是, 即使你们不再做朋友了, 你们仍然应该彼此友好。
