He ran a knife into the parcel. 他往包裹上刺入了一把小刀。
The driver ran his car into a tree because of his carelessness.那位司机由于粗心把车撞在了一棵树上。
Language Points
[拓展] 与run 有关的短语:
run around 四处乱跑 run away 逃跑, 逃走
run after 追逐, 追求 run out 耗尽, 用完
eg: He tried to run away but gave up when he found himself surrounded. 他试图逃跑, 但发现已被包围时只好放弃了这个念头。
2. When he tapped me on the shoulder and said my name, I couldn't figure out who he was. 他拍我的肩膀叫我的名字时, 我不知道他是谁。
用tap, pat, hit, pull, take等词表达拍、打、拉、抓住身体部位时, 要搭配不同的介词, 但表示身体部位的词前都要用定冠词the, 而不用形容词性物主代词
eg:He patted/tapped the boy on the head/back/forehead.他拍拍男孩的头(背、前额)。
Don't hit me in the face/on the nose. 别打我的脸(鼻子)。
Pull/take him by the arm/hand. 拉(住)他的胳膊(手)。
eg:His voice on the phone sounded familiar to me. 他在电话上的声音我听起来很熟悉。
I am of course familiar with your work.我当然熟悉你的工作。
sth. be familiar to sb. 某物对某人来说很熟悉
sb. be familiar with sth. 某人熟悉某物
3. He seemed familiar but I forgot his name. 他似乎很熟悉, 但我忘了他的名字。
4. She just reminded Wang Mei of her name and they had a good, long chat. 她就提醒王梅她叫什么, 她们愉快地聊了一阵子。
remind sb. of sth. “提醒某人某事”, 它还有“使发生联想”的意思
eg:I reminded him of his grandfather's birthday,我向他提醒他爷爷的生日。
Her smile reminds me of the way her mother smiled.她的笑容使我想起过去她妈妈也是这样笑的。
5. He was happy to hear from me, and we had a good conversation. 接到我的电话他很开心, 我们聊的很开心。
hear from “接到来电;收到信息”
eg:I reminded him of his grandfather's birthday,我向他提醒他爷爷的生日。
Her smile reminds me of the way her mother smiled.她的笑容使我想起过去她妈妈也是这样笑的。
hear about/of “听说, 听到”
eg: I've just heard about his illness. 我刚听说他生病的事。
6. Yay, I got back an old friend! 好哇, 我找回了一位老朋友!
yay “好的, 不错”, 用来表达喜悦、赞成、鼓励等情绪。”
get back 在本句中的意思是“找回; 取回; 恢复”, 可以用get back sth. 结构, 也可以用get sth. back 结构。
eg:Yay, I finally got the diving world champion!真棒,我终于获得了世界跳水冠军!
eg:I got back my lost pen. (=I got my lost pen back.) 昨天我找回了我丢失的钢笔。
