1. Time has gone by quickly. 时间飞速而逝。

2. At times it can be very hard. 有时生活可能是很艰难的。
at times = sometimes “有时候”
eg：At times, she makes mistakes in exams. 考试中她有时候会出错。
3. No matter how high you rise, there will be times when you fall down. 无论你升得多高, 你也有落下来的时候。
eg：No matter how/However sly a fox may be, it is no match for a good hunter. 狐狸再狡猾也敌不过好猎手。
no matter how=however “无论多么”, 用来引导让步状语从句。

No matter who/ Whoever you are,you must obey the school rules. 不管你是谁, 你必须遵守学校的制度。
No matter what/ Whatever difficulty they may meet with, they are sure to succeed. 无论遇到什么困难, 他们都定会成功的。
No matter which/ Whichever you like, you can take it with you. 无论你喜欢哪一个, 你都可以拿走。
fall down “摔倒; 跌倒; 失败”
eg：You have to fall down many times before you will succeed. 在你成功前, 你会跌倒很多次。
fall down from = fall off “从......跌落”
eg：The girl is falling off the bike. （= The girl is falling down from the bike.） 女孩正从自行车上摔下来。
4. Pick yourself up and take a new road.你要鼓起勇气, 走一条新路。
pick oneself up 在本句中的意思是“（使自己重新）豉起勇气（树立信心）”
eg：They picked themselves up and faced the difficulties bravely. 他们鼓起勇气, 勇政面对困难。
eg：He picked himself up and walked on with weak knees.他站起来, 双膝无力地继续往前走。
pick oneself up 也有“站起来”的意思
He picked up his hat and walked away. 他拿起帽子走开了。
The patient is picking up wonderfully. 病人正在迅速恢复健康。
We picked up the talk where we had stopped. 我们又继续中断了的谈话。
I picked up the news on the radio. 我从收音机里听到那个消息。
Shall we pick him up on the railway station 我们开车去火车站接他好吗？
pick up 还有“拿起, 拣起; 恢复(健康、谈话);收看(听); 搭载”的意思
