过去进行时
The Past Continuous Tense ( 过去进行时）
１、基本概念
过去进行时表示在过去某一时刻或一段时间内正在进行的动作.
I was writing a letter at 4 yesterday.
They were playing basketball yesterday afternoon.
2、时间状语
昨晚8：00
昨天这个时候
正在那个时候
昨晚6：00 到9：00
昨天当你到这儿时
刚才当我看见他们时
当你遇到他们时
at 8:00 last night
this time yesterday
at that time / at that moment

注：过去进行时表示感彩与现在进行时相似，过去进行时也可表示满意、称赞、惊讶、厌恶等感彩，也通常与 always, forever, continually等副词连用。 They were always fighting.
结构
肯定句 主语+be（was, were)+现在分词+其他。
e.g. My son was learning English in America last year.
否定句 主语+be (was, were) not+现在分词+其他。
如：It was not raining this time yesterday.
疑问句 一般疑问句：Be (Was, Were)+主语+现在分词+其他？
特殊疑问句：
1.疑问词+be (was , were)+现在分词+其他？（疑问词做主语）
2.疑问词+be(was , were)+主语+现在分词+其他？

过去进行时表示的动作在过去某个时间正在进行,可能完成,也可能没完成。
一般过去时表示动作或状态已经结束。
