【学习目标】
1．学生会运用本节重点单词和短语，如awake，fall over，etc。
2．学生会运用扫读阅读策略来寻找具体信息。
3．学生通过阅读文章，能了解大熊猫的生存现状，并有保护大熊猫及其他濒危生物的意识。

通过阅读文章，使学生掌握scanning策略。

Teacher：Do you know what they are？Yes，they are pandas.They are very lovely.Many people like them very much.Do you like them？There are only less than two thousand pandas in China.We should play a part in saving the animals.Do you want to know what the difficulties are？And how do people protect the animals？If you want to know the answers，let's learn the article on Page 54.

Task 1
【组内小展示】
先由各小组组长带领组内成员认读单词和词组，再在整个小组内进行齐读后对词汇的用法进行归纳，并标记出发音和理解困难的单词，可及时向老师求助。最后，板书展示内容。

Pandas do not have many babies，maybe only one every__two__years．The babies often die from illnesses and do not live very long.Adult pandas spend more than 12 hours a day eating about 10 kilos of bamboo.Many years ago，there were a lot more bamboo forests and pandas in China，but then humans started to cut__down the forests，and there was less bamboo for the pandas.Scientists say there are now fewer than 2，000 pandas living in the remaining forests.

1．Fast reading.①Students read the article with the questions in 2c，choose the best title；②Students find and mark the difficult sentences，then translate them into Chinese.
