本课时是外研版PEP三年级下册unit3 At the zoo A. Let’s learn & Let’s do,属于单词新授课，主要内容为学习形容东西或人的特征：tall，short，thin，fat，并能正确使用It’s ...的句型。
二、教学目标设计：
1. 能够听、说、读、写四会单词：thin，fat，tall，short。
1. 能够使用句型：Look at that monkey. It’s fat.

Step1 Warm up/Revision
1.Let’s act
Say and act :Act like a bird.Act like a tiger.Act like an elephant.Act like a monkey.Act like a panda.
【设计意图】复习上学期第四单元所学的动物，从而更易于引入本单元所学的动物知识。
2.Let’s play
学生根据课件上部分遮挡的图片猜测图片呈现的是什么动物。
【设计意图】加强学生对所学过的动物的记忆。
Step2 Presentation
1. Learn the new words.
Gate1: (PPT呈现一只monkey的图片)
T：(指着monkey)Look at this monkey. It’s so thin.
A. 学习单词：thin
Chant： be thin, be thin, be thin thin thin.
T:(PPT呈现两只monkey的图片，一只瘦，一只胖，指着瘦的)Look at this monkey. It’s ...(让学生补充，然后指着胖的)，Look at this monkey. It’s fat.
B.学习单词:fat
Chant: be fat, be fat, be fat fat fat.
C.呈现三张PPT，每张PPT都有两个动物，一只瘦，一只胖，让学生进行对比，并巩固thin,fat这两个单词。
Gate2:(PPT呈现一只giraffe的图片)
T：Look at this giraffe. It’s tall.
D.学习单词：tall
Chant： be tall, be tall, be tall tall tall.
T:(呈现两只giraffe,一只高，一只矮，指着高的）Look at this giraffe. It’s ...(让学生说出来，然后指着矮的)，Look at this giraffe. It’s short.
E.学习单词：short
Chant：be short, be short, be short short short.
F.呈现两张PPT，每张都有两个动物，一只高，一只矮，让学生进行对比，并巩固tall,short这两个单词。
2.Play the flash of “Let’s learn”,student listen and read after it.
3.Learn “Let’s do”
A.Play the flash of “Let’s do”,student listen and read after it.
B.Act and say
PPT中依次呈现“Let’s do”中的每句话，要求学生边读边做动作。
【设计意图】创设情境，让学生走进动物园，加以对应的chant和录音材料，学习本课所要学习的新词，充分激发了学生的学习兴趣与求知欲。
Step3 Consolidation
1.Guess riddles
动物园里有四扇大门，每扇大门后面都有一种小动物。猜一猜，这些是什么动物？猜对了才能进入动物园，加油！
【设计意图】猜谜语可以巩固学生所学过的动物，并知道每种动物的特点，其中出现的形容特点的词就是本单元需要掌握的单词。它的有趣性引起学生的兴趣。
2.Practice
A.习题1:看图，并根据汉语提示，补全句子。

2. The pig is ______ （矮的）and____（胖）.

【设计意图】鼓励学生综合运用所学的知识来解题，避免发生学生不会解题的情况。
Step4:Warm Tip
说明动物是我们的朋友，要爱护动物，并给出几点提示：
1.不能扔垃圾；
2.不能随便喂食小动物；
3.不能打扰动物休息，乱丢异物；
4. 不能随便触摸动物。
【设计意图】情感升华，所学要与实际来联系，从而让学生有爱护动物的意识。
