ability n. 能力, the ability to do sth.做某事的能力
have the ability to do sth. 有做某事的能力

be filled with= be full of
e.g. On a clear night, the sky is filled with stars.=On a clear night, the sky is full of stars.

progress 为不可数名词;

6. She did her best to help others in the community who were deaf or blind. 她尽自己最大的努力去帮助社区里看不见或听不见的人。
who were deaf or blind做定语修饰others。在句中做定语的句子叫定语从句; 被修饰的名词或代词叫先行词; 连接先行词和从句的who叫关系词;关系词在从句中做成分。
e.g. I like the book that he bought very much. 我很喜欢他买的那本书。

定语从句是修饰名词或代词的句子。被修饰的名词或代词叫先行词;引导定语从句的词叫关系词, 关系词在从句中充当句子成分, 并且指代先行词。
eg：She had a high fever that made her blind and deaf.

Stephen Hawking was born on January 8, 1942 in Oxford, England. He is one of the most famous scientists in this century. He's an expert on space and time. Stephen Hawking was afflicted with ALS(卢伽雷氏症)when he was 21 years old. He was informed that he would die within 3 to
5 years.But fortunately, he overcame
the difficulties and wrote A Brief History
of Time.
Zhang Haidi was born on September 16，1955 in Jinan. When she was 5 years old，she was ill. She became a paraplegic(截瘫病人). She finished learning primary, secondary and university study by herself. She also studied medicine and helped people. In 1983, Zhang Haidi won two titles: one is “the 1980s New Lei Feng”, and the other is “the Contemporary Paul”.
Huang Yangguang was born in 1977 in Guang Xi. At the age of 5, he lost his arms because of touching high voltage(高压). With amazing perseverance(毅力), he not only learned to live with his feet, but also learned to write and paint. His artistic talent was targeted by China Disabled Art Troupe. He became a professional dancer.
