that 人,物 主语; 宾语; 表语 She is the only student that has finished the homework.她是唯一一个完成作业的学生。

[注意] that 在从句中做宾语时可省略

when 时间 时间状语 I will never forget the days when I worked abroad.我永远不会忘记 我在国外工作的日子。
where 地点 地点 状语 This is the place where we met yesterday.这是我们昨天碰头的地方。
why 原因 原因 状语 That was the reason why I didn’t come yesterday.那就是我昨天没有来的原因。
[注意]
that和which都可以指物, that和who都可以用来指人, 但在下列情况下, 只能用that引导:
1. 当先行词被序数词、形容词最高级或the only, the same, the last, the very等修饰时;
eg:It’s the most interesting place that I have ever visited. 这是我曾经去过的最有趣的地方。
2. 当先行词是不定代词或先行词被all, any, much, many, every, no, few, little等修饰时;
eg:You can do everything that you like to do. 你可以做你喜欢做的一切。
3. 当先行词里既有人又有物时;
eg:The man and the car that I saw yesterday are in the schoolyard today.
我昨天看到的男人和车今天在校园里。
4. 当先行词前有who或which等疑问代词时。
eg:Who is the girl that spoke to you just now

[注意]下列情况下不能用that
1. 关系代词前有介词时;
eg:This is the house in which Jiao Yulu once lived.
这是焦裕禄曾经住过的房子。
2. 先行词为that时。
eg:What’s that which you are holding in your arms
你怀里抱着的那个是什么?
定语从句中的谓语动词和定语从句的主语保持人称和数的一致, 当关系代词在定语从句中作主语时, 其谓语动词与先行词保持人称和数的一致。
eg:This is one of the trees that were planted last year. 这是去年种的树中的一棵。
