4.Some research was done in order to make the play.

in order to = so as to 意思是“为了......”, 后加动词原形
eg：He got up early to/in order to/so as to catch the first bus. 他早起为了赶上第一趟公共汽车。
其否定形式为：in order not to 意思是“为了不......”,
eg：I get up early every day in order not to be late.我每天起得早是为了不迟到。
in order that “为了;以便”, 后加从句, 作目的状语。
eg：I get up early in order that I can catch the early bus.我早早地起床就是为了能赶上早班车。
5. We have some excellent playwrights and famous plays in China. 中国有优秀的剧作家和著名的戏剧。
本句是表达“某处有·. . . . . . ”的句型之一, 与there be,there lie/stand等句型作用相同。
eg：We have desks and chairs in our classroom. 我们的教室里有桌椅。
There is a river near our village. /There lies a river near our village. 我们村庄附近有条河。
There stands a tall tree in front of the house. 房子前面有棵大树。
6. Cao Yu's Thunderstorm and Lao She's Teahouse have been on stage for many years--and still are today. 多年来, 曹禺的《雷雨》和老舍的《茶馆》一直在上演——当今仍在上演。
on stage的意思是“在（舞）台上;当众”。
eg：We'll put a play on stage.我们要上演一出戏。
China is on stage,and the world is watching. 中国已登上舞台,全世界都在注目观望。
[拓展] on the stage 还有“当演员,登台演出”的意思
eg：She began to get/be on the stage when she was eleven years old. 她十一岁时开始登台演出。
7. But we do have a Lao She Teahouse in Beijing.
北京的确有个“老舍茶馆”。
do在本句中用作助动词, 起加强语气,或者强调谓语的作用。
eg：They do go swimming every Sunday. 他们确实每周日都去游泳。
[注意]主语是单数第三人称时, 用does;句子是一般过去时态时, 用did。
My brother does look very tired. 我弟弟看上去确实很累。
Li Ming did see a big poster on his way home. 在回家的路上李明确实看见了一幅大海报。
