(一)the same与different
the same意为“相同的”；different意为“不同的”。二者均可作表语或定语。
They are in the same school, but in different classes.他们在同一所学校，但是在不同的班。
(二)like; the same as与different from
1.like为介词，意为“像”，用来说明相似关系。常与系动词连用，如：
(1)look like意为“看上去像……”，指外观上像。
It looks like an orange.它看起来像个橘子。
(2)be like意为“像……一样”，指品德、相貌等相像，更侧重表示人的个性特征。
What is she like 她是个什么样的人？
(3)feel like (doing sth.)意为“想要(做某事)”，其后接名词或动名词，不能接动词不定式。feel like的另一个意思是“摸起来好像……”。
It feels like silk.它摸起来像丝绸。
2.the same as意为“与……一样”，为同类事物间的比较。as后可接名词、代词、名词短语。
Mary's dress looks the same as her sister's.玛丽的裙子看上去和她姐姐的裙子一样。
3.different from意为“与……不同”，from后接比较的对象。
This book is very different from that one.这本书与那本书迥然不同。
be different from … =be not the same as ...
The new plan is different from the old one.这个新方案与旧的不同。
→The new plan is not the same as the old one.
(三) the same ... as
the same … as意为“与……同样的(非同一个)”。the same后面可接名词或名词短语，as可作关系代词，引导一个定语从句，并在从句中作某一成分，不过as引导的从句往往是省略形式。
This is the same pen as I lost last week.这同我上周丢失的那支钢笔一样。
Peter is the same age as Paul.彼得与保罗一样大。
