I. pre-task Let the students enjoy a video about the forests. Ask them what they can see in the video to lead in animals, insects and birds. And teach that “A forest is a large area of trees.” Enjoy the video and tell what they see in the video. Learn the sentence: A forest is a large area of trees.
II while-task Show a picture of the relationship between the forests and animals, insects and birds to lead in “provide … for …” and “get … from …” Show the pictures of birds, insects and animals and teach the word “hollow” and the phrase “make nests” Birds make their nests in trees. Small animals and insects build their homes in the hollows of trees. Ask the students what people use wood to do. Let the students listen to the tape and repeat the text and read the text together. Raise some questions according to the text. And ask the students to answer them.
