形容词和副词的最高级
Grammar focus
一、用法
当三个或三个以上的人或事物进行比较时，形容词或副词要用最高级形式，最高级之后常用of, in, among等短语来限定比较的范围。其中of后接表示一群人或事物的名词或代词；in后接表示某一单位、团体或场所的名词；而among则表示“在三者或三者以上当中”。
注意：形容词的最高级前一般要加定冠词the，但是当前面有物主代词、名词所有格等修饰时，不加定冠词the。副词的最高级前可以加the，也可不加the。
二、构成
1.规则变化
①一般在词尾加-est。
small→smallest; fast→fastest; hard→hardest
②以不发音的字母e结尾的词,在词尾加-st。
nice→nicest; large→largest
③以重读闭音节结尾的词,若词尾只有一个辅音字母,应先双写这个辅音字母,再加-est。
hot→hottest; thin→thinnest
④以“辅音字母+y”结尾的词,先变y为i,再加-est。
early→earliest; busy→busiest
⑤多音节词和部分双音节词,需要在词前加most。
slowly→most slowly; popular→most popular

三、最高级基本句式
1.主语+be+the+形容词最高级+比较范围

四、最高级的常考结构
1．“one of＋the＋形容词最高级＋复数可数名词”表示“最……的……之一”。
Mr. Green is one of the most popular teachers in our school.
格林先生是我们学校最受欢迎的老师之一。
2．最高级前可加序数词，表示“第几最……”。
Mike is the third strongest boy in his class.
迈克是他班里第三强壮的男孩。
3．“Which/Who＋is＋the＋形容词最高级，A, B or C？”或“Which/Who＋动词(＋the)＋副词最高级，A, B or C？”
