Ⅰ.The analysis of the teaching material
Focusing on the topic of experiences, this module enables students to talk about their own experience. They should be able to use present perfect to talk about their experience and their harvest. It can also help them form good studying and living habits gradually.
Unit one is a listening and speaking lesson. The topic is about the competition among students, with frequent use of present perfect sentences. It is closely related with students’ life and they have something to say about it.
Ⅱ. The analysis of students
Students of Grade Eight are eager to show their talents, although sometimes they are introvert to express. They are on the way to form logical mind. Some of them are immersed in homework. They tend to ignore the colorful life. And some of them may easily defeated by occasional failure.

Students are expected to be more confident in their life and study.
Ⅳ: the difficult point and the important point
The most important aim in teaching this lesson is to lead students to understand and use present perfect. The difficult point lies in the expression of own experiences and the understanding of the meaning of failure.
