Teaching aims: 1. Students will be able to understand the passage about hobbies by answering the questions.2. Students will be able to use the new words and expressions: person, interest, skill, activity, sailing, success, pleasure, such as, as well as, come out, as a result.3. Students will be able to learn some skills of reading, such as prediction, reading for the structure and the main idea of the passage and reading for the details.4. Students will be able to think about how hobbies bring us advantages by reading David’s story.5. Students will be expected to write about their own hobbies based on their own life experience with the target language in this unit.Affection:Students will be able to understand the importance of keeping a good hobby in their life.
Difficulties: It is difficult for some students to understand the main purpose that the writer wants to tell us through David’s story, which is also the main idea of the passage.
Teaching aids: Multi-media system, blackboard, handouts etc.
