Activity 5 Choose three tags that best describe the main idea of the passage.
I choose “art” because the three pieces of work mentioned in the passage all belong to art.
The reason why I pick the tag “museum” is that the whole thing happens in a museum.
And judging from what the author does in the passage, I’d say that he behaves as a “tour guide”.
1. Which of the three artworks makes the greatest impression on you Why
I’d say the artwork that makes the greatest impression on me is Mona Lisa, because one can
always have a different view of her
when looking at this painting in a
different way.
2. Which galleries and museums have you visited Share your experience with the class.
I once visited the Palace Museum, and the experience left a deep impression on me. The royal buildings, which are so magnificent, caught my sight immediately when I stepped into the front gate. Travelling through the palaces, I was quite shocked to see the elegance
of the collections. They really touched
me. I hope you can all visit the museum
yourself.
Read the passage again and try to underline the words and expressions used to describe the two art works in Para. 3 and Para. 4 , and then form a general opinion about how the broadcaster introduced them.
