Pandas no longer endangered
Great news! Pandas are no longer in danger. They are on the road of recovery (恢复). Back in the 1980s, there were as few as 1,114 pandas in China. But the most recent survey in 2014 showed that there were 1,864 pandas living in the wild.
Since 1981, the Chinese government has been working with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to save the world’s most famous bears and their home. They have set up 67 nature parks so far, which protect nearly two-thirds of wild pandas by giving them space to live and bamboo to eat.
