Step1 Free talk 1.Say: My friend Cindy is going on a trip to Sunshine Zoo,would you like to be her guide Ask: how to be a zoo guide 2.Here are names of animals . I’ll give them to you (students in groups of four). 1. Students talk about “how to be a zoo guide ”2.One student will read out the name, the other three students will say something about the animal. To revise some animals they have learnt.
Step 2Presentation& practice(Know more about animals) Review some features of the animals by guessing games. Explain the sentences one by one and talk about the language points, by giving more examples. Look at the pictures and have a guess.Listen carefully and write down some important points. Master some language points.Help students get the further understanding of some key points.
Step 3 Presentation& Practice(How to direct the way) Show students more traffic signs. Students learn more traffic signs and do more practice. To learn how to show the way and improve the ability of speaking.
Step 4 Show time Say “Cindy is coming , it’s your show time.Try to be her guide. ” Help Cindy show her around Sunshine Zoo.Say: I am your guide. Follow me to see..... To improve the ability of speaking.
Step 5Group work Get the students to help visitors to some place and describe the routes.Remind the students to try to help people show right way. Try to help the visitors direct the way according to different routes. To learn how to give directions in our daily life in English.Helping others makes us happy.
Step 6Summary Make a short summary about today’s lesson. Listen to the teacher and think as well. Review today’s lesson.
