Step 1 Warming—up
1. Free talk
2. Guessing games
Revise the names of different animals by guessing games.
Step 2 Pre-listening
1.Talk about something amazing about ants,camels,snakes and giraffes by showing pictures.
a..Do you know any amazing things about these animals
(giraffe, camel , snake ,ant)
1) How many bones are there in its long neck
2) How much food does it eat in cold winter
3) Do they often need to drink a lot of water
4) How do ants know that there is something sweet
2.Mr Wu is showing Suzy some pictures of animals .Look at the pictures and tell me which animals they’re talking about .
Step 2While-listening
1. Listen to their conversation again and put the pictures in the correct order.
2.A discussion:Should we be afraid of all animals
3.Suzy, one of the Class 1, Grade 7 students, is afraid of animals. Mr. Wu wants to help her. He is telling her some interesting things about animals. Listen and help her complete the notes.

Present the script of the listening materials and pay attention to the language points.
Step 4 Writing
1. Show students Wendy’s postcard.
2. Try to fill in the blanks, and then check the answers.
Step 5 Speaking
1. Make a dialogue about Chinese New Year. First give them an example, then let the students make the similar dialogues with their partners.
2. Listen to the tape and try to answer the following questions
(1) Which is Millie’s favourite day
(2) When is it
(3) Why does she like it very nuch
3. Read in different ways
4. Acting Students try to make up new dialogues about their favourite days.
5. Reporting Students will be able to say something about their favourite days.
Step 6 Homework
Ask Students to make a postcard on any festival they like.
