1．概念
表示在A、B两者之间进行比较，一个比另一个在程度上更进一步。
2．基本句式
“A＋be＋形容词的比较级＋than＋B”意为“_________”。
The lion is stronger than the tiger. 狮子比老虎更强壮。

注意： 比较级前面可用much(……得多)，a little (有点……), even (甚至，更), a bit (有点……)等词或短语修饰，表示不同程度。
3．特殊句式
(1)表示双方程度相同时，用“as＋形容词或副词原级＋as”结构，表示“____________”。
She is as tall as her sister. 她和她妹妹一样高。

4．变化规则
单音节和少数双音节形容词比较级变化如下：
(1)一般在词尾加 er。
great→greater small→smaller
(2)以字母e结尾的形容词直接加 r。
nice→nicer wide→wider

(3)以重读闭音节结尾的形容词如末尾只有一个辅音字母，应先双写该字母，再加 er。
big→bigger hot→hotter red→redder
(4)以“辅音字母＋y”结尾的形容词，先把y变成i，再加 er。
