(2)population n.人口;人口数量
①当population表示整体人口时,谓语动词多用单数;当前面有分数、百分数修饰时,表示部分人口,谓语动词多用 复数 。
②指人口“多”或“少”时,一般用 large__或__small ,而不用many 或 few。
③so + many/few +复数名词+that-从句。如:
He has so few friends that he often feels lonely.他几乎没什么朋友,以至于他常常感到孤独。
④so + much/little+不可数名词+that-从句。如:
He drank so much wine last night that he felt terrible.他昨晚喝太多酒了,以至于他感到很难受。
