Conditional sentences (if)
We use conditional sentences to talk about possible actions and the results of these actions.
If you like shopping and sightseeing, you will love Shanghai!
The if clause talks about a possible action.
The main clause talks about a probable result.
Things to remember
In these sentences, the verb tenses are different.
The verb in the main clause is in the simple future tense.
The verb in the if clause is in the simple present tense.
We can also use other model verbs such as ‘can’ in the main clause.
a If it is fine tomorrow, we will go sightseeing.
b If you go to Beijing, you can visit the Great Wall.
