Lesson plan of 7B Unit 6 Outdoor fun — Down the rabbit hole
一、教学目标
1.知识目标:获取故事的基本要素和故事梗概,理解故事中的逻辑关系。
2.技能目标:学生自主阅读,并能够在教师的引导下完成不同类型的阅读任务。
3.情感目标:感受经典儿童文学作品(童话故事)的语言之美,培养学生阅读英文原著的兴趣和想象力;通过演绎故事情境,培养表达能力。
4.策略目标:培养阅读中预测、略读和细读微技能策略。
二、教材分析:本节课节选自世界儿童文学经典著作《爱丽丝梦游仙境》。结合七年级学生童真美好的特性,这一篇语言优美、情节生动的童话故事十分符合七年级学生的特点,会深受学生的欢迎。逻辑性强,讲授起来连贯性和感染力极强。因此可使用相关文学作品和影视作品与故事讲述相结合。勇敢的主人公Alice能够引起学生们的情感共鸣,让他们勇敢自信和持之以恒的态度去面对人生道路上的困难,并用积极乐观的心态去解决它们。
三、教学重点和难点
(1)教学重点:理解文章大意;梳理事件先后顺序,分段落学习;带着不同类型的阅读题目进行阅读;融入故事情境,感受主题升华。
(2)教学难点:复述故事
四、教学方法设计
采用PWP(Lead-in—Pre-reading—While-reading—Post-reading)阅读教学模式,结合任务式教学法进行教学。
五、教具
多媒体(文字、图像、音频、视频)为主,板书为辅,情景剧使用的道具。
六、教学步骤
(Lead-in)
Step 1: “Do you know any fairy tales in China “Tell the story of a rabbit and a tortoise according to some pictures and phrases of some verbs to show the fairy tale in China and present some words and phrases.
Step 2: “Do you know any fairy tales in Western ” Have a short introduction of Alice in wonderland.
【设计意图:以讲述中国童话故事做引入,引出西方童话故事,使学生感觉更有共鸣,对接下来所学内容更感兴趣。】
(Pre-reading)
Step 3: “What is the title of this story ”
Predict based on the title: a. Who was in the story b. What happened
Step 4: Task 1: Watch the video about the story and answer some questions: (1) When did the story happen (2)Who jumped down the hole (3)Where did the story happen
Step 5: Task 2: Put the pictures in the right order and divide the story (according to three places in the story)
【设计意图:引导学生掌握在阅读前先从题目猜测故事内容技能,在略读中根据故事发生的不同场景将段落划分,也同时为接下来的详读文章分析文章环节做准备,锻炼学生的自主略读技能,增强对英文阅读的逻辑思维。】
(While-reading)—Learn the parts one by one
Step 6: (Part 1: Read paragraph 1&2 with listening the tape 1)
Task 3: Tell true or false
Task 4: Who did these (let Ss focus on the verbs, especially the simple past tense)
Task 5: What was special about the rabbit (let Ss use the phrases in this part to talk about the special rabbit); Then ask Ss to answer “What did Alice think of the rabbit ” to lead to the next part
Step 7: (Part 2: Read paragraph 3 with listening the tape 2)
Task 6: Complete the passage about Part 2 with prepositions (let Ss focus on the collocation of verbs and prepositions), then ask students to answer “What did Alice do after seeing the amazing rabbit ” according to some verbs on PPT, finally let them imagine “if you were Alice, would you jump down the hole or not And why ”
Step 8: (Part 3: Read paragraph 4&5 with listening the tape 3)
Task 7 : With thinking about the question “Did Alice have any problems in the hall”, Ss read paragraph 4&5, and finish the table on PPT about Alice’s problems. And then according to the scene transitions (on PPT), let them use the key words (especially the verbs) to talk about “What did Alice do when she met these problems ”
Task 8: There is a part of the movie Alice in Wonderland about Part 3, let Ss challenge themselves to narrate for the movie (give them 2-3 minutes to practice these two paragraphs and ask someone to narrate for the movie). And then let some students (one for Alice, one for the small door, four for the big doors, one for the narrator) use some props to have a show to act out this part.
【设计意图:结合任务教学法对文章进行分段落阅读,让学生带着不同的学习任务去阅读,使学生感觉原本乏味的阅读过程更具有挑战性,由浅入深,一步一步攻克阅读难关;针对故事性文章,在常规阅读任务中设计对文章情节或人物的深度理解任务,还有与故事相关的影视作品相结合,让学生们尝试为电影情节配音任务,最后由配音任务提升到情景剧表演,通过演绎故事情境,培养学生表达能力的同时,使学生在学习英语中感受快乐,还学习到故事主人公的坚强意志。】

Step 9: Task 8: Look at the pictures and verbs on PPT and retell the story which is divided into two parts. (Summary of this story)
Step 10: Task 9: Think and talk — What do you think of Alice
Let students use “I think Alice was …” with some adjectives.
【设计意图:复述文章具有较高的难度,因此设计于阅读后环节。结合本单元重点语法(一般过去式),让学生根据场景和本课重点动词与介词提示完成复述任务,提升学生综合阅读能力以及对动词一般过去式句型的运用。复述任务也可视为整节课的总结部分。最后通过赏析主人公性格品质,达到对学生的情感目标提升。】
