【教材分析】
本课是八年级下册第八单元的第四课,是一篇关于如何保护环境的阅读课文,要求学生能理解课文,并掌握有关保护环境的词汇和句子。通过学习,激发学生关心环境、爱护环境,从而保护环境的意识。
【学生分析】
八年级学生已掌握了一定的词汇,具备一定的英语表达能力,能听懂简单的对话,能和同伴进行简单的英语交流。他们在前面的课文中学习了垃圾的分类回收,具备一定的环保知识,也掌握了一些有关环保的词语和句型。在本课的学习中他们只需要在教师的引导下进一步学习如何保护环境并表达他们自己的想法。
【教学目标】
1.能够掌握标要求的“四会”词汇:Truck, factory.
2.能了解介绍保护环境的表达法和一些介绍保护环境的句式。
3.能谈论如何保护环境。
【教学重难点】
1.掌握一些与介绍保护环境有关的词汇:Protect, waste, save, clear, recycle, reuse.
2.学会介绍自己所知道的环保常识。
3.掌握以下重点句子:
(1)I think everyone should take care of the environment.
(2)I often check to make sure there aren't any leaks, and I never forget to turn off the tap.
(3)A truck picked up our recycling every week.
(4)It's not too hard to protect the environment.

Step1.Lead-in
Show several pictures, let students know about the environment around us.
Then ask: What should we do
Tell them :Today let’s learn how to protect the environment.Show the tile to them.

Step2. Read and learn
1. Students read the text and fill in the blanks.Then let them read the words and phrases that are filled, make sure they can read by themseleves.
2.Learn some words and phrases of the text:
1) take care of means “照顾、关心”
We should take care of our parents.
2)worry about 担心(be worried about)
Our parents awlays worry about us.
3)take a shower 淋浴
He takes a shower every day in summer.
4) recycle 动词“回收再用” recycling 名词
5) again and again “再三地”
He repeated the setences again and again.
6) unlike 介词“不像”
She is unlike her mother.
7) less是little 的比较级
8) make a difference to “对 、、、有作用或影响”
Parents can make a big difference to their children.

3.Read the text carefully and answer the questions:

Students read the text and tell with the given words and phrases:

Step4.Practice
Ask the students to write a short passage to introduce how to protect our environment.If the time is possible,ask some groups to present their passages in front of the class.
