一、语言点:
1. have entered a new century 已经跨入一个新的世纪
(1)当enter表示进入一个具体处所或加入某个组织而成为其中一员时,是及物动词,后面无需加介词,如本句。
enter into :进入,后加抽象名词,主要表示进入某种状态或着手做某事。如: The country entered into a state of peace.这个国家进入了和平状态。
2.*What do you think will happen in the future ?你们认为将来会发生什么?
(1) 本句do you think 为插入语。
(2)本句是针对“I think + 一般将来时的宾语从句”的从句部分提问的.
(3)in the future:time that has not come yet 将来某个时候,将来,与in the past 相对
3.* Perhaps people will be able to live on other planets.将来,也许人们能够居住在其他星球上。
(1) can 表示能力时,在很多场合可以与be able to 换用.但要表示过去经过一番努力才能完成的事情时,只能用be able to.
(2)be able to (do sth ):有时态变化 can(do sth ): 作情态动词,无将来时和完成式。
4.* I think so./ I don’t think so. 我也这么认为。/我不这么认为。
此两句分别用于表示同意或不同意别人的意见。
5. * Perhaps there will be no water or air on the Earth .将来,地球上可能会没有水和空气.
(1)There be 句型的将来时态。
(2)no =not a /any…本句也可改成:Perhaps there won’t be any water or air on the Earth。
(3)on earth :究竟;到底,常用来加强语气。
on the Earth :地球上
6. *I hope that there will be enough food for everyone .我希望每个人都会有足够的食物。
(1)hope / think 所引导的宾语从句,表达主语的想法与主意等,从句部分用一般将来时。
(2)hope to do sth 希望做某事,可与 I hope that…互换
不可写成:hope sb to do sth
7. *What do you hope will happen in ten years’time 你们希望十年以后会发生哪些变化?
in ten years’time中的years’是名词所有格,意为“10年的时间”
in twenty years’time = in twenty years 二十年后 当in在表示将来含义的句子时,后面跟一段时间。
8.*We can keep the time box in a secret place. 我们可以把时间盒放在一个秘密的地方。
句中的keep 作动词,意为“存放”。keep 其他用法:(1)保持;继续:keep quiet (2)饲养:keep… as (3)履行,信守(诺言):keep one’s promise…
9. *After ten years,we can open the box and see how things have changed.十年以后,我们可以打开盒子看看已经发生了哪些变化。
(1)after ten years 也表示“10 年后”. after与in都表示“以后”,其区别在于:after
常用于过去时态的句子。在用于将来时态的句子时,after+某个特定时间;in+一段时间。如:They will start working after 10 a.m.他们将在上午十点以后开始工作。
They will start working in half an hour. 他们将在半小时后开始工作。
(2)can 各种形式+动词原形
10.* Close the box and seal it with tape. 合上盒子,用胶带封好。
句中的tape作名词,意为“胶带”。tape也可解释为“磁带”,如:Listen to the tape,please.请听磁带。 seal…with 用…… 把……封好
祈使句否定:Don’t +v.
