在句子中起宾语作用的从句叫做宾语从句。
宾语从句分为三类：动词的宾语从句，介词 的宾语从句和形容词的宾语从句。
宾语从句过"三关"：时态，语序，连词。
宾语从句

宾语从句的连接词：从属连词
1. 从句为陈述句，常选择引导词that或将that省略，直接与主句相连。
2. 从句为一般疑问句，常选择引导词if或 whether。在 whether … or not 结构中不能用if 替换。
3. 从句为特殊疑问句，常选择what, when, where, which, who, how等疑问代词、疑问副词作引导词。(本课不涉及）
一、分为三类：
动词的宾语从句
形容词的宾语从句
介词的宾语从句
that 引导的宾语从句
1. 动词+宾从句
大多数及物动词都可以带宾语从句。
常见的动词有：say, think, wish, hope, see, believe, agree, expect, hear, feel等。
He thinks that he can go swimming tomorrow.
他认为他明天能去游泳。
I do not believe (that) he has never been to the USA.
我不相信他从没去过美国。
2. 形容词+宾语从句
有些形容词具有动词的含义，所以也可以带一个宾语从句；例句：
I am sorry I am late.
I am glad that you can join us.
Are you sure his answer is right
常用来引导宾语从句的形容词有：
sure, certain, glad, please, happy, sorry, afraid, satisfied, surprised等
3. 介词+宾语从句
except, but, besides三个介词后可见到 that引导的宾语从句。例如：
I know nothing about my new neighbor except that he used to work with a company.
对于我的新邻居我只知道他曾在一家公司上班,其他一无所知.
二、宾语从句的时态
(1) 主句谓语过去时，从句相应过去时；
He answered that he was listening to me.
(2)主句谓语现在时，从句时态任所需；
He says (that) he will leave a message on my desk.
They know (that) he is working hard.
(3)具体过去永不变，真理格言现在时.
He told me that he was born in 1980.
Father told me that practice makes perfect .
Millie: Did you know (that) there is a relationship between colours and moods
Sandy: Certainly. I think (that) colours influence our everyday lives in many ways.
Sandy is chatting online with Millie about room colours. Try to add that to each object clause.
Millie: How should we choose the colours for the rooms of a house
Sandy: Most people think (that) light colours are better than dark ones.
Millie: Yes. I notice (that) light colours make rooms seem larger.
Sandy: Sure. I also know (that) blue can make us feel relaxed.
Millie: Yes. My mum says (that) blue is suitable for bedrooms. I also find (that) some people prefer orange
for their dining rooms.
Sandy: True, but it depends on personal taste. Anyway, we should choose the colour which makes us feel comfortable.
if 或 whether引导的宾语从句
1. if和whether在作“是否”理解时，引导宾语从句常放在动词know, ask, care,wonder, find out等之后，此时从句部分的语义相当于一个一般疑问句。
I want to know if / whether he is our new teacher.
我想知道他是不是我们的新老师。
2. if 和whether都可以引导宾语从句，表示“是否”，在口语或间接引语中两者可以互换使用。如：
I wonder if / whether I can get some advice from you.
Ask him whether / if he can come.
3. if和whether不能互换的情况：
用whether,而不用if的情况：
①作介词的宾语时，用whether，而不用if.
I am interested in whether he’ll go to have a picnic.
②whether引导的从句可移到主句之前而if不能。
Whether this is true or not, I am not sure.
③后面紧接or not时，只用whether.
We didn’t know whether or not she had come.
④用if会引起歧义时, 只用whether.

(“请告诉我你是否喜欢”或“如果你喜欢,请告诉我”。）
4. 宾语从句语序必须是陈述语序。即“连接词+主语+谓语+其他成分”。
“Did Mary clean the classroom yesterday ” Mr Wu is asking.
Mr Wu is asking if /whether Mary cleaned the classroom yesterday.
胡老师问昨天玛丽是否打扫教室了。
5. 宾语从句中的人称代词要符合逻辑，有时需进行合理变化。
She wonders, “Can I keep that book for one more week ”
She wonders if / whether she can keep that book for one more week.
她想知道那本书她能不能再借一个星期。
