结构： be (was/were) + doing

Summary
过去进行时
过去进行时的用法:
a.表示过去某一时刻正进行的行为, 与特定的过去时间状语连用,常见的时间有: at 8 last night, at this time, at that time, at that moment 等。
e.g. 昨天早上十点你正在做什么？
What were you doing at 10 yesterday morning
我那时候正在给我爸爸写信。
I was writing a letter to my father at that moment.
b.表示过去某段时间内正进行的动作。
e.g. 我们去年冬天在建房子。
We were building a house last winter.
否定句和疑问句：
e.g. 我们（那会）没有在家睡觉。
We were not sleeping at home.
他感觉还好吗？Was he feeling well
肯定式：
主语+was/were+动词-ing (+其他).
如：I was swimming at that time.
否定式:
主语+wasn’t/weren’t +动词-ing (+其他).
如：They weren’t listening to music at
ten yesterday morning.
2. 句式
疑问式:
Was / Were+主语+动词-ing (+其他)
其肯定回答为：Yes, 主语(人称代词)+ was / were.；
否定回答为：No, 主语(人称代词)+ wasn’t / weren’t.
如：—Was Joe reading at the time of the
rainstorm
—Yes, he was. / No, he wasn’t.
when 和 while 的区别
1.when引导的时间状语从句，从句用一般过去时，主句用过去进行时。
2.while引导的时间状语从句，从句用过去进行时,主句用一般过去时。
3.当主句和从句都是过去进行时，只能用while,表示“与此同时”。
4.当while前后的句子描述的情况相对或相反时，while译为“而”。
