More of Alice in Wonderland
I. Teaching aims and learning objective
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. understand the main idea and details of the text by using reading strategies(prediction, skimming and careful reading)
2. get the meaning of some key words through context.
3. choose suitable words, adverbs and conjunctions for an article.
4. write about what they think will happen to Alice next with their imagination.
II. Teaching contents
1. New words and phrases: sweet, become, enough, decide, enter, towards, forget, reach, climb, fail, a little, too … to
2. New sentences: She was too small to reach the key.
III. Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty
1. To learn and use reading strategies.
2. To write the following story with their imagination and creativity.
IV. Teaching methods:
Task-based method, communicative teaching approach, pair work, group work

Multi-media, blackboard

1. Pre-reading activities
Step 1 Review and Lead-in
Revision.
Students look at the pictures and describe what happened to Alice.

After listening to Para.1, answer the following two questions.

Step 2 Read and Compare
1. Read Para 2, tell which of the statements on the screen are true and which are false.
Alice opened the bottle and drank a lot.

2. Compare the two ways of writing to get to know more details.

Read Para 3-4 and then put the sentences into correct order.
