Follow, north, west, south, east, trip, kilometer, go down, have to, go up, far away from. Sunshine Zoo is north of Sunshine Middle School. I think we have to go up again.

Step 1 Presentation
1.T: Where do some birds fly in winter And where do they fly in spring Ss: Some birds fly south in winter, and they fly back north in spring. Write south, north on the blackboard.
2.Draw the directions of south-east, north-west, south-west, and north-east. To make the students grasp the understanding of the meanings and pronunciation of the four words.
3.Introduce the names of all kinds of building s and their directions: a garden, a zoo, a school, a bus stop, a hotel. T: Where’s the zoo/hotel Ss: The zoo is north/south/east.
Step 2 Practice
Let the Ss draw an easy map and work in pairs to ask and answer. In order to say the relevant directions: Where’s the hospital The hospital is …
Guide the Ss to act out their dialogue and encourage the others to correct the mistakes they find.
Present the map on A.The students are planning a class trip. Look at the map. First, tell me where Sunshine Middle School is. Then find the places they plan to visit. Check the answers together and make the Ss read the vocabulary after the teacher.
Step 3 Presentation
T: Is your home far from our school How do you usually get to school
Ss: I usually go to school by bike/by bus/on foot…
Step 4 Activities
Work in pairs and do the Ask and Answer in order to make them express the means of traffic fluently.

Open the book and read after the tape. Divide the students into two groups and read the conversation in different roles. Remind them of the pronunciation and intonation.
Work in pairs and talk about the trip. You can use the Simon and Daniel’s conversation as a model.
