Step1 Lead—in Show pictures and ask: Do you love animals What animals are you fond of What animals are you afraid of How much do you know about them Ask students: Do you know any amazing things about animals Step2 Presentation Show pictures of PartA1, ask: Look, there are some animals. Do you know their names Write: snake camel ant Show more animal pictures, ask: What animal is this Can you tell us something about this animal Are you afraid of this animal Step3 Listening Mr. Wu and Suzy are also talking about animals. Listen to their conversation and tell me which animals they’re talking about. Listen to the tape. Answer: giraffe snake camel ant 2．PartA1 Listen to the tape again and put the pictures in the correct order. 3．Reread and to learn the new words. Questions: （1）How many bones does a giraffe have in its long neck (There are only seven bones in it) （2）What do snakes do in winter (They sleep all the time and eat little or nothing in winter.) （3）How long can camels live without water (They can live for a long time/) （4）What are ants good at (They smell things well/) 4．Listen to the tape of PartA2．Listen again to finish Part A2 5．Read the sentences and check the answers together. Step4 Practice 1．Now you know something about these four animals. Can you use your notes to help Suzy write a Thank-you letter to Mr. Wu Finish PartA3 Read and check the answers together. Exercise: Not…any more live without be afraid of know more about （1）People cannot air/（live without） （2）Most children snakes.(are afraid of) （3）Children want to animals in Science class.(know more about) （4）I will be late for class .(not, any more) Step5 Presentation 1．Ask: What’s the artist using to draw the picture Chalk The artist is drawing a 3-D picture with chalk/It’s really amazing. 2．The students are talking about amazing things in the world．Listen to the tape and answer the following questions. 1）How did the young man travel around over 80 countries (By bicycle.) 2）What can the man do with two hands at the same time (He can write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time.) 3．Read the dialogue in roles in groups Step6 Show 呈现讨论新闻时的相关表达方式。 Make up new dialogues. Step7 Homework Try to remember the new phrases of this lesson. Try to make up a new dialoguer like Part B. Preview Study skills.
