本课是北师大版《初中英语》七年级下册教材Unit 2 On the Weekend 第5课Talking to Friends，话题为周末使用即时信息同朋友聊天。本课是本单元的第二课，主要学习的内容是用 “现在进行时”描述现在正在进行的动作，与第4课（周末在家帮助做家务）相呼应，通过阅读Chris 和Wu Qi的即时信息，学生体验和感知现在进行时的表意功能和用法，使用获取的信息谈论Chris，Wu Qi和Jeff此刻正在做的事。

While-reading
Step 3 1st reading Ss listen to the tape to get information, “How many communication tools do they use What are they ” Ss scan the messages to check their answers. 通过扫读获取信息，核查预测。 IW, PW, CW 5’
