Good morning/afternoon, class. How are you today Ask four or five students to reply.
Review the previous lesson. Complete the mind map with classroom objects.
Presentation
1. Ask three students for different school objects. Say: May I have a pencil Thank you. May I borrow a book Thanks. May I have an eraser Thank you.
2. Return the objects to the students and tell them that today they will learn how to ask for something and give thanks in English. Then make up a dialogue:
Teacher:Do you know what to say after someone says “thank you ”in English?student:You are welcome. Teacher:Very good .It’s not polite to just ask for something. We should say “thank you ”and “you are welcome”.
Listen and Read
Play the audiotape for Lesson 5 and complete the activities. Ask the class to listen and read aloud with the audiotape.
