特殊疑问句的定义和结构
以特殊疑问词引导的问句被称为特殊疑问句，用来询问具体的人或事、时间、地点、原因等，不能用yes或no来进行简单回答。
结构：

特殊疑问句的用法
1. 对指物名词或动作提问，疑问词用what。
The twins are making a kite.

2. 对名词定语提问，疑问词应用which而且必须和名词连用。
I’m going to take the shirt on the right.

3. 对指人名词或代词提问用who，作宾语时提问用whom，位于句首可以用who代替。
My mother is cooking in the kitchen.

4. 对物主代词和名词所有格提问用whose。

5. 对具体的地点提问，疑问词应用where。

6. 对表原因的从句提问，常见的有because引导的从句，疑问词应用why。

8. 对数量提问，疑问词组用how many，要注意how many必须跟名词的复数形式。

15. 对日期、星期、天气等提出疑问，则分别用What’s the date /What day is it… /What’s the weather like…

what time when
询问某事件的具体时刻（钟点），两者可互换。
询问钟表上表示的具体时间（钟点）。 询问事件发生的年份、月份、日期等较大时间。
不可做连接词。 作为连接词，引导时间状语从句，意为“当……时候”。

how far 询问距离的长短。
how soon “多久以后”，回答通常用“in+时间段”。（多用于一般将来时）

【典例1】—Excuse me, Sir. ______ is it from here to the nearest shopping mall
—Well, only about five minutes’ walk.

考查疑问词。句意：—打扰一下，先生。这儿离最近的购物中心多远？—恩，步行大约五分钟。根据答语可知，对距离的提问，故选用How far。

考查疑问词。句意：—你在这里开会要多长时间？—到后天。根据答语，可知对时间段的提问，选用How long。

考查疑问词。句意：—这是谁的模型飞机？—我认为是吉姆的。看，他的名字还在上边。根据答语,名词所有格Jim’s，表所属关系，故选用Whose.
